During the past week, I had the privilege of preparing fun little treats for a charming gathering of women at their book club session. The setting was ideal, with the bright and warm late afternoon sun shining down on us. We were surrounded by trees, colorful umbrellas, and a river filled with spring runoff, creating a perfect ambiance. What made it even better was that this lovely oasis was located in the backyard of the Joy and Wylde Redstone Art Gallery. I highly recommend paying them a visit. Their art collection is carefully selected, featuring works by local artists from Colorado, along with a variety of delightful trinkets, jewelry, home decor, and more!
On the menu:
Strawberries - Large and stuffed with sweetened cream cheese, sprinkled with crushed graham crackers. A huge hit, and were the first to disappear.
S'mores bites - Bite sized pastry shells, filled with chocolate ganache, topped with marshmallow cream and lightly toasted. The cleanest way to enjoy a S'more!
Peach flowers - Delightful dessert. White peaches thinly sliced, rolled in a delicate pastry with peach preserves lightly daubed on. Finished with a sprinkling of cinnamon on top and baked to perfection. A little messier than the last two, but certainly worth it.
Mini quiche - Eggs, crisped prosciutto ham , assorted seasonings, tomato and a garnish of chive, all baked into a airy pastry shell and tucked into tulip petal papers. Fun little presentation for a spring time gathering of friends.
Hibiscus tea - sweetened with local to Colorado honey. This is a honey that you can find in Joy and Wylde. It was perfect for the tea.
Sparkling infused water - Infused with Cucumber and fresh mint. Yum!
